Analytics platform Nansen expands to Terra as DeFI ecosystem grows
Analytics platform Nansen announced Thursday that it has expanded its coverage to Terra, now the sixth blockchain the service analyses.
Nansen adds Terra for on-chain analytics
Users will be able to access technical charts and data displayed in a Terra dashboard. One of Nansen's tools is Smart Money. This feature tracks the wallet addresses of institutional investors and whales and summarizes their activity in a visual chart. Coinciding with the announcement, the Nansen team released a research paper highlighting the growth of the Terra ecosystem in recent months.Other platform features include NFT Paradise and Mint Master, which offer insights into the NFT space. Currently, the Singapore-based company supports Ethereum, Polygon, BNB chain, Fantom, Avalanche, CELO, and it has announced dashboards for Arbitrum and Solana.
The growth of the Terra ecosystem
Terra is currently the second-largest chain in terms of total value locked (TVL) at $25.6 billion. However, Terra's huge success is due to the success of Anchor, a stablecoin protocol that offers depositors a yield of 19%. The protocol currently has a TVL of $13.28 billion because it can offer such a high yield on stablecoin. This means that more than half of the locked tokens on Terra are in one protocol.In the report, Nansen expects more DeFi protocols to be introduced on Terra this year. The report says more than 100 new applications are expected in 2022. Currently, the three most used protocols are Anchor Protocol, Astroport and Terraswap, but the most popular part of Terra is UST and in the report, Nansen states that UST is on its way to becoming the leading decentralized stablecoin in the crypto economy.
