Animoca Brands partners with Brinc to launch $30M Guild Accelerator Program
Hong Kong-based game software company and venture capital company Animoca Brands, which majorly invests in NFT and metaverse projects, has teamed up with global venture accelerator Brinc to launch the Guild Accelerator Program.

Animoca Brands and Brinc aim to build and grow the play-to-earn (P2E) guild ecosystem through the Guild Accelerator Program. The new initiative offers a total investment capital of up to $30 million over two years.The project will offer up to $500,000 per guild under the direction of Animoca's Richard Robinson. Projects that emphasize sustainability and those that promote and give back to player/scholar communities will be prioritized for consideration.
Guilds is aimed to transform education, skill development, R&D, agriculture, and almost every industry which has "access to tools and assets historically prevented anyone with time to innovate, up-skill and thus earn a living," stated Brinc creator Manav Gupta.
The Guild Accelerator Program will be hosted under Launchpad Luna, a Brinc and Animoca Brands accelerator launched in 2021. Applications will be accepted until February 27, with the first cohort beginning in May.

The play-to-earn (P2E) market exploded in 2021, with Axie Infinity leading the way with over $2 billion in trading volume in the Q3 of 2021 alone.Since some blockchain-based games have huge barriers to entry, such as heavy starting fees, crypto-related gaming guilds provide gamers with the required funds and resources to play them. In exchange for providing the necessary funds or tools, the guild receives a portion of the profits from the P2E game.
