Binance's license in Bahrain has been upgraded to provide more services
Crypto exchange Binance announced that the Central Bank of Bahrain had granted it a Category 4 license, allowing it to provide a wider variety of services.

After getting a full crypto-asset service provider license from the Central Bank of Bahrain in March, the crypto exchange will be allowed to step up its game. The upgraded crypto-asset license will allow Binance to provide consumers with crypto-asset trading, custodial services, and portfolio management under the supervision of Bahrain regulators.“Developing regulations aligned with global trends is a key objective for us at the CBB. We continue to work with partners and industry leaders such as Binance to develop regulations that enable innovation and best practices.” HE Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, saidIt is the first crypto service provider in the country to possess a Category 4 license. These moves are a significant shift from last year when regulators targeted the exchange in several countries.
Expansion in the Middle-East
Binance appears to have learned to pick its battles since most of its recent moves indicate that the company is increasingly concentrating on the Middle East. The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange plans to offer payment and trading services in Dubai and Bahrain as soon as June and has received a regulatory license to operate in Abu Dhabi.While the majority of regulatory wins appear to be coming from countries in the Middle East, for the time being, Binance recently announced that it is now a fully regulated digital asset service provider in France. Despite some regulatory challenges in Europe last year, Europe will be on its radar again after the Middle East.
