Bitcoin hashrate on the way to full capacity after China crackdown
Bitcoin hashrate is picking up since a major drop earlier this year due to the China crackdown. Numerous countries like Kazakhstan have provided a safe haven to Bitcoin miners who have been pushed away from China. Furthermore, in the past three days, the average hashrate for Bitcoin mining stood at 182.83 exahashes per second.

Before June, the Bitcoin Mining Electricity Index compiled by the University of Cambridge's Centre for Alternative Finance shows that 71% of the global hashrate was constrained to China. The government of China decided to put an end to mining-related activities.In order to comply with the government's requests, miners took their operations out of the nation or closed them once and for all. Meanwhile, the data from mining pool BTC.com shows that between May to June, when BTC prices fell from their all-time high, the Bitcoin hashrate was halved as miners left China, complying with the government's wishes.

Difficulty to increase
Mining is a process wherein transactions involving Proof-of-Work cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are validated via solving complex computational problems. The Bitcoin hashrate is the computational power required to solve the problem and verify the transactions with the help of Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).As per data from the chart below, Bitcoin mining has increased by huge digits in the year 2021. However, due to the price fall in Bitcoin and the crypto crackdown of China, the hashrate dropped, which led to the lowering of difficulty of the hashes.

However, it is also clear from the above chart that gradually, the difficulty of the hashes are increasing and reaching the previous highs after their lowest in June. Furthermore, the data from Coinwarz.com shows that after 9 consecutive increases, the difficulty increased from 13.6 T to 22.6 T, which is a 66% increase.
