Bitfinex suspends trading activities
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has halted trading activities on its platform. The exchange is currently investigating an outage and said it would keep its users posted on any latest development via its Twitter page.Bitfinex made this known via a status update on its official website earlier today. The exchange said,
The exchange updated its page a few hours later, stating that it had identified the problem and is working to fix it. “Our intervention is nearing successful completion, and the Bitfinex platform will be returning in view-only mode at 9:55 AM UTC. Starting from 10:00 AM UTC, it will be possible to cancel orders before trading opens at 10:05 AM UTC. Thank you for your patience,” Bitfinex added.
Bitfinex resolves outage issues
The cryptocurrency exchange later added that it had resolved the issue, and everything is now back to normal. The platform outage began at 07:43 UTC and ended at 10:20 UTC. Thus, the entire outage lasted nearly three hours.Bitfinex experienced a similar outage in July, with the exchange going offline for about 1 hour 45 minutes. It is currently one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world, with over $700 million in daily trading volume.
