Brave browser now supports BAT token withdrawals
The increasingly popular web-browser Brave has finally released their eagerly-anticipated update that finally enables users to withdraw their earnt BAT tokens. Previously, to the frustration of many, the tokens could only be donated to websites and content creators. Once verified, users will now be able to withdraw the BAT tokens they have received from viewing ads (a feature added earlier this year).
Brave have partnered with wallet provider Uphold where the tokens will be withdrawn to, and can be stored safely and without concern about expiration. Users will need to have their wallets verified in order to use the service.
While the update enables to withdraw tokens, it currently has a couple of issues which Brave have addressed. The initial release will display the users wallet address and Uphold username to any content creators that you wish to send any BAT tokens to. Tokens already received from viewing ads upto now, will not be able to be automatially claimed on the current release, but Brave have noted that they wish to have these issues resolved by August/September.
The latest release from Brave is something that investors have been waiting for a significant period of time, and while it has some initial teething issues, the release alone paints a promising future for all involved.
