BTG Pactual launches a crypto investment platform
BTG Pactual, the leading investment bank in South America, has become the first major bank in Brazil to enter the cryptocurrency market. The investment bank has launched a new platform enabling customers to make direct investments in cryptocurrencies.According to a report by Rio Times, the launch of Mynt will allow BTG Pactual Digital and BTG+ clients to trade directly, cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ether. The bank said, "At this first moment, we will have the two main assets of the market, but we will include other cryptos for trading over time. We will have a complete platform with blockchain-based assets."
The bank added that it intends to support more cryptocurrencies in the future. BTG Pactual CEO, Roberto Sallouti, said the launch of the platform is in response to the demands from its customers who wish to invest in cryptocurrencies.
BTG Pactual to educate customers about cryptocurrencies
The bank intends to go further to educate its customers about cryptocurrencies. Mynt will host education content designed to inform new users about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.BTG Pactual said, "As a new asset class, we will also have content to educate and inform our customers about these assets and the technology." BTG Pactual is the first major Brazilian financial institution to allow its customers to gain access to cryptocurrencies.
Andre Porthilo, BTG Pactual's head of digital assets, stated bank's status as a regulated by will lend credibility to Brazil's growing crypto sector. "With the support of BTG Pactual, Mynt has fundamental differentials in security and credibility [—] characteristics that are fundamental in a new category of investments with which most people [are] not yet used to," the BTG Pactual exec added.
