Top forex broker Charles Schwab is seeking a compliance director to head its futures and forex team. The company displayed the job post on its website, adding that the director will be tasked with designing the broker’s cryptocurrency procedures.According to the job post, the director will have the opportunity to supervise all aspects of compliance for Schwab’s futures, forex and virtual currency business. The supervision includes “risk assessments, policies and procedures, training, senior management reporting, Audit and Regulatory exams, testing and managing actions stemming from findings, observations or self-identified issues,” Charles Schwab added.
The director will support the Chief Compliance Officer or the futures business and work with the current team. Sources close to Charles Schwab revealed last month that the company is exploring the launch of crypto brokerage. According to the sources, the firm wants to offer cryptocurrency trading services to customers via partnerships with industry companies.
Charles Schwab added that the compliance director would “establish a virtual currency compliance program, provide advice and mentorship to our business partners regarding the applicability of rules and regulations; advice on policies, procedures and controls and relating to new products and/or services, risk management and changes in the regulatory environment.”
According to the job post, the preferred candidate must have ten years of industry experience, with five years of futures, forex and virtual currency compliance and regulatory experience.
