Coinbase shakes hand with Thirty Five Ventures, brings NFTs to browser
Coinbase, the biggest cryptocurrency exchange in the US, has partnered with Thirty Five Ventures, a firm founded by Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman. A report from Boardroom confirms the addition of "Durant as a collaborator, Boardroom as a media partner, and a philanthropic integration with the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation (KDCF)."
Coinbase and Thirty Five Ventures to work on many strategies
As per the report from Boardroom on Wednesday, Coinbase and Thirty Five Ventures will be walking down the road together in the foreseeable future, discussing a number of opportunities in the blockchain industry. Boardroom will be acting as the media partner for the collaboration."In five years, Coinbase has become representative of that era and is in line with our premium brand philosophy. And we’re getting into this formalized agreement with a company that is just scratching the surface on where it’s going," said Kleiman.
Furthermore, the report also states that the two firms will be working on "creating NFT drops to storytelling and content around how crypto empowers everyone, NFT education, and highlighting Coinbase's rapid growth in the industry."
The partnership will also support Coinbase's artist- and creator-first approach. The major exchange has been trying to capitalize on the opportunities in the NFT industry, recently releasing an NFT marketplace.
A lasting relationship
This is not the first time Coinbase and Thirty Five Ventures have crossed paths. In the year 2017, Thirty Five Ventures participated in the exchange's Series D funding round in which the exchange raised a whopping $100 million at a $1.6 billion valuation."To think that four years later they have invested in our platform, invested in Kevin, invested in our foundation, I think it’s what all good partnerships in the future look like for us,” Kleiman said
Coinbase's NFT efforts
Coinbase has announced that it will allow people to view NFT in their browsers, making it very easy for people who use the desktop version of the wallet to view NFTs and make a bid."We are also adding some of our users’ most requested features to Wallet extension, including the ability to natively trade on decentralized exchanges (DEXes) and bringing NFT collections directly into the browser, said the Coinbase blog.
