Crypto lender Ledn raises $70 million in Series B funding
On Wednesday, crypto lender Ledn announced that it has raised $70 million in a Series B funding round.
Ledn plans to expand its company further
This funding round brings Ledn's valuation to $540 million. 10T Holdings is the lead investor. Other investors include Golden Tree Asset Management, Raptor Group, and FJ Labs. In addition, Dan Tapiero, managing partner and CEO of 10T Holdings, will join Ledn's board. All existing investors, including Coinbase Ventures, Alan Howard, ParaFi Capital, and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments, also participated in the round.Ledn says the company has grown significantly in both loans and assets this year. The company will use the new capital to strengthen its balance sheet to support the rapid growth of its digital asset lending business by hiring new employees and releasing its new Bitcoin-backed mortgage product.
What is Ledn?
Ledn is a financial product provider that offers interest-bearing savings accounts and Bitcoin-backed loans that allow customers to access dollars or additional Bitcoin without selling their existing holdings. Today, Ledn announced a new Bitcoin-backed mortgage product that allows users to borrow to buy a home using their Bitcoin holdings as collateral. The Bitcoin mortgage product is currently in pilot mode and is expected to be widely available in the U.S. and Canada in early 2022.The Series B round brings Ledn's total funding to $103.8 million. In May, the company received $30 million in Series. In terms of assets, it has surpassed $1.7 billion, which is a 4,000% increase since Q3 2020. The company now has 100,000 registered customers in 127 countries.
