In this article, we’ll dive into how to setup a wallet on Bitcoin Lightning Network. For this tutorial, we will create a wallet using the Wallet of Satoshi. Known for its simplicity and accessibility, Wallet of Satoshi allows users to set up a Lightning wallet in a straightforward way. Despite its custodial model, which means some control over assets is given up, its ease of use makes it ideal for newcomers. First, download the Wallet of Satoshi app. Once you download it, you'll need to enter your email address, by tapping on “Next” and typing it. In this wallet, there are no seed phrases or keys to manage. Since it is a custodial application, all the Bitcoin you see in your wallet is actually held in their wallets. This makes it an easy app to use, but remember, you don’t have full control over the Bitcoins you buy. After you receive the code, type it in and tap “Next.” Now, choose a username for your Bitcoin Lightning Address and tap “Submit.” If you tap on the top left corner, you will find various settings and features to explore. For example, you can change the app’s theme or the fiat currency in which your balance is displayed. In the bottom menu, the first icon lets you access the AI bot for any questions. The second icon is to fund your wallet with Bitcoin, whether by transferring from another wallet, buying within the app, or earning from different platforms. It is worth noting that buying Bitcoin within the app is more expensive than alternatives like exchanges such as Binance or Kraken. The third icon is for spending your Bitcoin on different platforms, and the last icon shows all your recent transactions. To receive Bitcoin in your wallet, you need to create a Lightning Invoice. There are two ways to do this. The first way requires you to specify the amount you want to receive by tapping “Receive.” The second way lets the sender specify the amount; tap the @ at the top right for this method. Once the sender scans the QR code, they will need to enter the amount to send. If you want to send Bitcoin, you can also use both methods, paying invoices or specifying the amount yourself.
