Finally, Justin Sun has the $4.5M dinner with Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett was hosting the 20th charity dinner in 2019 where several bidders gave their offers to win the chance to have lunch with the legendary investor. The winner of that bidding war was Tron’s founder Justin Sun for a staggering $4.57 million bid for the Glide Foundation.
Justin Sun then extended dinner invitations to multiple prominent crypto-figures to join him. The founder of the Binance, Changpeng Zhao, received the first invitation and gave the first refusal. However, he did recommend Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano who agreed to join and provided a list of other people he thinks would be beneficial to have to change Buffett’s mind about Bitcoin. Unfortunately, Sun was obligated to postpone the dinner due to health complications.
The dinner finally took place alongside four other guests: Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin; Chris Lee, Helen Hai, head of Binance Charity Foundation; CFO of Huobi exchange and Yoni Assia, CEO of eToro. Justin Sun stated: “I’m thankful for the lessons learned during the dinner with Warren Buffett”.
According to Justin Sun, Warren Buffett believes in the power of blockchain, especially payments: "Mr. Buffett said blockchain has its value. There are a lot of incredible companies in the payment market, and it has huge demands. He believes blockchain technology will have a disruptive effect on the future of payment".
