FTX joins the ClearLoop network
Leading cryptocurrency exchange FTX has officially joined the Copper.co’s ClearLoop settlement trading network. In a Bloomberg report earlier today, the exchange said its entry into the network would make it easier to gain new access to institutional funds.Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange, said using a custodian is something FTX has been hearing for a while now, adding that it would allow institutions to conduct cryptocurrency trading. “A lot of people are going to want to use some sort of custodial network,” he added.
Bankman-Fried confirmed that FTX is doing a lot of things to attract financial institutions. However, he admitted that no one knows how institutional cryptocurrency trading would turn out to be in the long run.
Bloomberg pointed out FTX was the only leading cryptocurrency exchange that hadn’t joined the Copper’s platform. By joining the network, over 300 institutional asset managers can trade FTX’s products, including which include derivatives, options and tokenized stocks.
