Goldman Sachs is recommending Galaxy Digital's ETH fund to its users
Investment banking giant Goldman Sachs has joined hands with Capital market company Galaxy Digital to provide the former’s customers with greater access to the crypto industry with the latter’s excellence in the field.
Goldman Sachs teams up with Galaxy Digital
As per the new filings with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Goldman Sachs has been selling its clients exposure to Ethereum (ETH) through Galaxy Digital’s Ethereum fund. Goldman users who want to invest in spot ETH have been offered a position in Galaxy’s ETH fund.The new practice came into notice when Galaxy Digital’s amended Form D filing mentioned Goldman Sachs as a receiver of introduction fees for bringing clients to its Ethereum fund.
Founded in 2006 by billionaire Mike Novogratz, Galaxy Digital is a crypto-focused capital market company that has $2.8 billion in assets under management (AUM) as of the end of Q4 2021. According to reports, Galaxy Digital’s Ethereum fund, which is now recommended by Goldman Sachs, has made sales of more than $50.5 million.
The minimum investment per customer has been set to $250,000 but the actual amount purchased by the banking giant is currently unknown.
The independent asset management company, CAIS Capital has also been mentioned in the filing as a receiver of placement fees for bringing its clients to Galaxy Digital’s Ethereum fund.
Previous bonding
This is not the first time that the two companies have partnered. Goldman Sachs started trading Bitcoin futures through CME Group Bitcoin futures in June 2021, where Galaxy Digital was providing liquidity.Goldman employees are also getting attracted towards the digital asset world as a few days back, company’s executive Roger Bartlett revealed that he has left the company to join crypto exchange Coinbase in an effort to embrace cryptocurrencies.
