Gucci set to release NFT collection this February
Gucci, an Italian luxury fashion brand, is the newest firm to jump on the NFT bandwagon and release an NFT collection, as per a report. There will be a total of 10 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) which will be up for sale on Feb 1, 2022, in partnership with the creator of animated celebrities and digital vinyl toys, Superplastics.

The NFT collection drop will be executed in three parts, and the star behind this NFT drop is CryptoJanky, "an NFT drop and handmade collectible created by the company's artists Janky & Guggimon in collaboration with Gucci," said the report.The CryptoJanky was crafted in Italy and draws inspiration from the iconic style, symbol, patterns, and signatures of Gucci and is set to go on sale on Feb 1, 2022.
The Vault
In a series of tweets, the luxury brand also revealed their own metaverse where the past, present, and future co-exist and is named the Vault, envisioned by Gucci's Creative Director Alessandro Michele. In another tweet, Gucci noted:"Vault is dedicated to reimagining the House's heritage through new digital realms, alongside a curation of vintage Gucci pieces and noteworthy designers."The firm also released their initial roadmap, which includes "Vault's first NFT project as part of a three-part drop, beginning Feb 1 and featuring 10 exclusive NFTs, each accompanied by a ceramic sculpture handmade in Italy and co-designed by Gucci and Superplastic"
Gucci also revealed their Discord for discussions and further development of their metaverse. However, recently Fendi, another Italian luxury fashion house, had also announced the release of their NFT collection via partnering with Ledger, a cryptocurrency hardware wallet provider. It seems that the metaverse and NFT popularity is not going to die anytime soon, as predicted by market bears and critics.
