The second fund Hashed has launched
The announcement of Hashed Venture Fund II comes just a year after the launch of Hashed Venture Fund I, which raised $120 million. It will invest in Web3 start-ups, including those focused on Metaverse, blockchain gaming, NFTs, and DeFi. Major players in the IT industry in South Korea have joined the venture, which also came with the promotion of Sean Hong and Baek Kim, two long-time members of Hashed, to partners.The new fund will primarily focus on equity rounds of start-ups raising seed to Series B funding. adding that token warrants will also be allowed. "We are radically optimistic about web3's potential to restore trust and enable new kinds of governance where players collectively make critical decisions about how the metaverse should be defined," Hashed said.
What has Hashed invested in?
Hashed is known for having made over 30 targeted investments since the inception of its venture arm. These include blockchain analytics company CryptoQuant, derivatives platform Vega, Ethereum-based investment start-up Set, dYdX. Also, Republic, NFTBank, and Chai, among the companies Hashed, co-invested jointly with SoftBank Ventures. In addition the VC was also an early investor in Metaverse projects such as The Sandbox and Axie Infinity.In October, the firm launched a new start-up studio to support innovative Metaverse and NFT projects. According to the company, the new division will foster the development of creative projects while exploring and testing new ways to apply blockchain in the gaming and NFT markets.
