Jack Dorsey's Block posts job opening revealing company's Bitcoin plans
Jack Dorsey-owned Block Inc (previously Square Inc) hinted its plans to bring "the next generation of mining ASIC" and build a hardware wallet for the next 100 million Bitcoin (BTC) users through two job postings on LinkedIn.
Block intends to accelerate the activities revolving ASIC
Both positions are centered in Block's San Francisco headquarters and were recently published on LinkedIn. The candidate for the position of custom digital design lead will assist with "silicon validation of the ASIC and its prototype." The post also reveals that the Block intends to develop purpose-built ASICs for Bitcoin mining.The second position aims for global fulfillment and logistics lead for the hardware wallet. "Bringing easy-to-use, reliable self-custody to a global audience" is the core requirement for the post. The company hopes to distribute its hardware wallets to over 100 nations.
Block announced in July that it was working on a BTC hardware wallet with "assisted custody." The plans seem to be coming together now.

The news corresponds to Dorsey's announcements from 2021, which said that the company was exploring constructing a Bitcoin mining system based on custom silicon and open source for businesses and individuals all over the world.There are 650 roles available across Block's network of firms with multiple openings for state public policy leadership positions across the United States, along with the above-mentioned two product-related posts.
Dorsey has been outspoken in his advocacy for Bitcoin but has recently questioned the centralized nature of Web3 since stepping down as CEO of Twitter. He found himself between a block and a hard situation after posting a series of well-targeted tweets saying that venture capitalists run Web3. Andreessen Horowitz CEO Marc Andreessen immediately blocked him.
