The NFT series, titled "Lennon Connection: The NFT Collection," was released for auction Monday and will begin Feb. 7 in partnership with NFT marketplace YellowHeart and Julien's Auctions. Each NFT in the collection will be offered as an audio-visual collectible, voiced by Julian Lennon himself. Julian Lennon will retain the physical originals, and the buyer will own the unique NFT.The most notable item expected to receive the highest bid is Paul McCartney's handwritten note for Hey Jude. The NFT for that item has a starting price of $30,000. Other items include the Afghan coat John Lennon wore in the Beatles film Magical Mystery Tour, a Gibson Les Paul guitar the late artist gave to his son, and the black cape Lennon wore in the film Help. A portion of the proceeds from the NFT auction will be donated to Lennon's White Feather Foundation.

Julien's Auctions has previously sold other Beatles memorabilia at auction that fetched millions of dollars. Among the most notable pieces are John Lennon's acoustic guitars that fetched $2.4 million, Ringo Starr's drum kit sold for $2.2 million, and the drum kit Ringo used on the " Ed Sullivan Show" in 1964 sold for $2.1 million.It looks like Julian saw an opportunity to use this new technology, as NFTs are the latest trend in the crypto world.
