John McAfee rolls out his own cryptocurrency: Freedom Coin
John McAfee, the 2020 presidential campaigner, is considered an important figure by the crypto community. He is most known for his $1,000,000/Bitcoin prediction and the extravagant $105,000 price he charged for promotional tweets during the 2018 ICO craze, which he was forced to stop after SEC threats started. He was also allegedly ready to unveil Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity but decided to step back in order to not risk extradition after his IRS indictment for tax-evasion.
He recently announced the release of a new cryptocurrency debit card that will focus on privacy and anonymity. According to him, the card can be used anywhere in the world where Visa cards are accepted. McAfee has always tried to contribute positively to help the crypto-verse, even though his methods may sometimes seem unorthodox. Most recently, when Binance was hacked, he offered a helping hand to CZ (CEO of Binance) as his experience in cybersecurity exceeds half a century.
McAfee has now upped the ante, by rolling out his own cryptocurrency “Freedom Coin”. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, Freedom Coin will have zero cash-in value. It will also not be listed on exchanges to avoid value fluctuations from greed, fear, and manipulation.
