Yield Generation Protocol Katana announced that it has raised $5 million in a seed round led by Framework Ventures.

The funding round was led by Framework Ventures. Other participants in the round include Founder's Fund, Electric Capital, Proto Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Alameda Research, Solana Ventures, Reverie, Amber Group, CMS, MGNR, and QCP. Several angel investors including Jason Choi, Darren and Daryl Lau, Chris McCann, Split Capital's Zaheer Ebtikar, Joey Santoro, and others also participated in the round.The seed round took place in November 2021 and the fresh funds will be used to expand Katana's organization and further develop its structured products. Based on Katan's job board, it looks like the project is looking for new employees for various positions.
What is Katana?
Katana is a yield generation protocol that runs on the Solana blockchain. The project won the Grand Champion prize at the Solana Ignition Hackathon in October and has been developing its products ever since. Currently, Katana offers 11 different vaults for covered call options and 3 vaults for put options. The vaults have currently reached a TVL of approximately $25 million.According to Katana's documentation, the main advantage of their product is that it simplifies complex strategies so that virtually anyone can participate and achieve sustainable yields that were previously reserved for those with the technical knowledge and experience.
