Kraken set to integrate Bitcoin Lighting Network in early 2021
In conversation with Coin Telegraph, the company’s lead strategist Pierre Rochard discussed the potential to reduce transactions fees from the current rate of around $10, to a minimal $0.01, as well as allow near-instant withdrawals for the platform’s customers.

US cryptocurrency exchange Kraken have announced they will integrate the Bitcoin Lightning Network onto their platform in 2021.“We really think that this is going to benefit traders who value speed in a lot of the strategies that they employ.”
Withdrawals will be the first service on the platform to benefit from the Lighting Network in early-2021 in the form of an API, with deposits set to follow. This will reduce the waiting time for customers from 30 minutes to seconds.

In a blog post today, Kraken outlined their commitment to hiring a new team to focus on this new initiative. Available roles include front-end and user-experience (UX) design, with an eye for candidates who have experience in open-source Lightning protocol development.
