Ledger to launch crypto-based debit cards and allow NFT purchase
Ledger, a firm responsible for the development of security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies, has announced its plans of releasing crypto-based debit cards for all its customers in Europe and the United States. This card will be titled Crypto Life card and can be used by individuals to pay more than 50 million retailers for their services.
Taking part in the digital revolution
As per their latest tweet, Ledger shook hands with Baanx for the launch of this new crypto-based debit card, and the waiting list is already here. More details were revelated in the biannual Op3n conference in Paris. The card will initially support a few cryptocurrencies, which will include initially support Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), and Tether (USDT).The Crypto Life debit card from Ledger is expected to launch in the UK, US, and Europe sometime in early 2022. As per the details, the card will be connected to the mobile and desktop application of the platform, which will enable users to buy, swap, and stake their crypto very easily.
A few additional services that the Crypto Life card will provide include the option to automatically convert salary into cryptocurrencies and obtain credit using their crypto as collateral.
NFTs coming to Ledger Live
On the other hand, the hardware wallet firm also announced that the Ledger Live application would soon support NFTs or non fungible tokens."At Ledger, we believe that like any digital asset, NFTs have to be secure," said Ledger in their blog. "We aim to become the world’s most secure platform to store, visualize, manage and enjoy full ownership of both your coins and NFTs."
Furthermore, the firm has also integrated Rarible, one of the biggest NFT marketplace, in the native application of the firm.
"Rarible will be available in your Ledger Live “Discover” section, enabling you to use all of Rarible’s features starting in January 2022," said the official blog.Recently, the firm also partnered with Coinbase which itself is ready to launch an NFT marketplace.
