Tech giant Microsoft wants to know if gamers would support adding Bitcoin to the Xbox online store. The US-based company issued a survey, asking users about their preferred payment options on its online store.This latest information was revealed in a March 21 Reddit post on r/XboxSeriesX, with Microsoft asking its users the payment option they prefer. The company said, “Which of these other payment methods would you like to use on Xbox?”
Microsoft listed Bitcoin as one of the payment options it could add to the Xbox online store. The Reddit post has since gone viral as cryptocurrency enthusiasts create awareness of the need to add Bitcoin to the payment options.
According to an Xbox user, the survey is available to anyone that participates in the Xbox Insider program for beta testing OS updates. Microsoft is no stranger to Bitcoin. The company began accepting the cryptocurrency as a means of payment in 2014. However, it briefly halted but resumed BTC support in January 2018.
Microsoft allows United States-based users to fund their Microsoft accounts using the leading cryptocurrency. The users can use Bitcoin to buy content from Windows, including Xbox games. The Bitcoin payment option is available on its MS Store but not the Xbox online store.
