Nearly 50% of investors will sell stocks to invest in Bitcoin: Poll
A recent poll revealed that almost 50% of investors would reallocate capital from their stock portfolio and invest in Bitcoin. This comes as Bitcoin outperformed the stock market this year, rising by over 100% since the start of 2021.

Michael Saylor, the CEO of MicroStrategy, conducted a Twitter poll over the past two days. In the poll, Saylor asked his followers the asset class they would liquidate to divert the funds to Bitcoin.The poll results were interesting as they showed a new side to investors. 49.1% of the respondents said they would liquidate their stocks to invest in the leading cryptocurrency. This data doesn’t come as a surprise as recent reports indicate that Bitcoin has outperformed the stock market year-to-date. The best performing stock sector in the United States is the Energy sector, which is up by roughly 80% since the start of the year. Bitcoin, on the other hand, rose above $61,000 over the weekend, bringing its price increase to 100% since the beginning of 2021.
Gold came second as 22.1% of the respondents would choose to give up the precious metal and investing the funds into Bitcoin. Analysts at JPMorgan have previously revealed that Bitcoin’s rise over the past few months is coming at the expense of Gold.
Another 19.1% of the respondents said they would sell their properties to buy bitcoins, while the remaining 9.8% chose bonds. Bitcoin’s extraordinary performance continues to attract more investors into the market.
