New Hampshire passes bill to remove open blockchain token from certain securities laws
The United States' New Hampshire is the latest entry on the list of states addressing digital assets with optimism, maintaining a streak of positive developments for the crypto industry in the region.
New Hampshire passes crypto-friendly bill
New Hampshire’s crypto supporter and State House Representative Keith Ammon authored a new bill known as the HB1503, which says that open blockchain token developers and sellers who meet certain criteria should not be considered securities issuers. It removes an open blockchain token from certain securities laws.The law, which is co-sponsored by Representative Joe Alexander, makes the state the first to adopt a financial reform of this kind.
As the House passed the bill, Majority leader Jason Osborne along with Ammon released a joint statement where Ammon displayed strong support towards blockchain and digital assets technology, adding that these offer massive opportunities for job creation.
Ammon states:
“Just last year, job postings related to blockchain and cryptocurrency technology exploded, growing by almost 400%. Our state is in a perfect position to take advantage of the booming investment in this industry and makes several important changes to state law.”Osborne praised the steps taken by Ammon and other stakeholders. These efforts have put New Hampshire “in a position to take the lead on this revolutionary technology," which will bring investors and jobs by indicating to this fast-growing industry that the country is open for business, according to Mr. Osborne.
