Nexus Mutual Hacker Demands
The Nexus Mutual hacker has responded to CEO Hugh Karp’s $300,000 bounty offer last week with a counter-demand of $2.66 million in Ethereum (ETH). The proposition was announced by the hacker within an Ethereum transaction today.Their comment read:
“Hello Hugh. I will not sell wNXM any more until wNXM recovers his value or you send me 4.5k ETH. If you need any negotiation with me, send msg to my eth address. Following are your addresses. You are rich, Hugh [...]”

The price of NXM is showing signs of recovery following this development, posting 9.3% gains for the today up to $18.38 at the time of writing.CEO of Nexus Mutual, Hugh Karp responded to the hackers demand this morning dismissing the offer without counter, leaving the ball firmly in their court.
It has been reported that the hacker has already laundered $2.7 million of the $8.2 million hacked, around 33%. This figure of 2.7 million uncoincidentally equates to current demand of $2.66 million from the hacker.
CTO of Nexus Mutual, Roxana Danila remains optimistic for the long-term implications following this company disruption, tweeting in response to Karp:
“The foundation will keep building. If anything, this only makes us stronger and more determined.”
