Dapper Labs and NFL reportedly partner on an NFT marketplace
A recent report by Sports Business Journal has revealed that Canadian startup Dapper Labs will partner with the National Football League (NFL) and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) to launch a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace.The Sports Business Journal said,
The NFL, NFLPA and Dapper Labs this week will announce a deal to launch a digital collectibles marketplace resembling the hit NBA Top Shot, sources said. Precise terms are unknown, but sources said the deal makes Dapper Labs the union’s second-largest source of digital licensing revenue.The report said the marketplace would be similar to what Dapper Labs built for the NBA. The sources added that the NFL and NFLPA would acquire equity in Dapper Labs. Furthermore, the new American football NFT marketplace is expected to be launched before the end of this year’s football season in early January of 2022.
The marketplace will allow users to buy and sell trading card-like NFTs of NFL sports highlights.
Dapper Labs partnered with the Spanish LaLiga

Last week, Dapper Labs raised $250 million from its investors and partnered with the Spanish top-flight football league.The partnership with LaLiga will allow them to develop nonfungible tokens (NFTs) for LaLiga alongside other ventures. Dapper Labs will create NFTs featuring football teams including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Villarreal CF, and more.
