NFTs could be more expensive than physical art
Marvel has partnered with VeVe to launch digital NFT collectables, such as comics, character models and more. One of the questions that have yet to be answered is how valuable these NFT comics will be.A copy of Marvel Comics #1 was sold for $1.26 million in 2019, making it the most expensive Marvel comic ever sold. This gives an idea of how much rare NFTs produced by the comic industry leader could one day be worth.
The NFT for "Three Self-Portraits" by pop art visionary Andy Warhol was sold for $2.8 million on the BinanceNFT platform recently. To put this sum into perspective, the actual physical prints of the artwork was sold for around $2 million a few years ago.
With the prices of these art pieces, it is interesting to wonder if it would become a norm for NFTs to be more expensive than the physical form of the objects. This point might be valid because of the increasing value there is in the digital rather than the physical world.

Marvel Entertainment has partnered with Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited, a digital collectibles company that operates the VeVe Digital Collectibles App. The partnership will lead to the launch of a global digital collectibles experience for millions of Marvel fans and collectors.
VeVe will create NFTs for DC Comics and Marvel
In a press release, Marvel said, “For the first time, fans will be able to purchase and interact with official Marvel NFT digital collectibles, 3D statues, and digital comic books through mixed reality on VeVe’s groundbreaking app platform.”VeVe is also creating NFTs for DC Comics, another leading comic company.
While the DC versus Marvel debate has raged for decades among comic fans, the fact that will both be launching NFT collectables using VeVe adds legitimacy to both of their products. This will potentially create mutual benefits for both comic publishers who will be hoping to fetch high prices at auction.
