Nyan Heroes partners with Metaplex Studios to release third-person shooter
Nyan Heroes announced that it is partnering with Metaplex Studios and receiving strategic support from Solana Labs to launch its play-to-earn 3rd-person shooter on Solana.
The project moved its launch from Ethereum to Solana
Nyan Heroes originally planned to launch its game on Ethereum but decided to move the project to Solana. They have made this decision because the project wants to avoid the rising gas fees on Ethereum that plague most NFT drops. According to Nyan Heroes launching on Solana will "allow frictionless, lightning-fast transactions with negligible fees and allow our project to scale in the long-term."Metaplex Studios recently launched to provide NFT projects and artists with the tools, capital, and resources they need to create their own NFT stores based on the Metaplex protocol. These resources seem like the perfect fit for Nyan Hereos to be able to do their Genesis NFT Sale on Solana.
What is Nyan Heroes?
Nyan Heroes is an NFT game built on the Solana blockchain. Players will be able to collect Nyans (cats) and their guardian robots as NFTs and battle other players in what the project calls a "Play-And-Earn 3rd Person Shooter Battle Royale". This allows players to earn their in-game utility token during the game, called $CTNP (Catnip).Players can also breed their Nyans, clone their Guardian robots, collect rare and unique weapons and skins while trading all of this as NFTs in their marketplace. In their articles, they claim to be pioneering a new system known as "Play-And-Earn" rather than "Play-To-Earn," which it claims is more sustainable than existing Play2earn games.
The project will have a pre-sale of its Genesis Nyan NFTs on October 16. The project will be using Metaplex's NFT storefronts for the NFT drop. The total supply of these Genesis Nyans will be 11,111, and 5500 of them will be available during the pre-sale at 3 SOL.
