Playboy partners with Nifty Gateway on NFT art
The NFT space is getting a lot of attention from media companies globally. The digitalization of art has excited artists, media companies, and others. Over the past few months, various media companies entered the NFT space, and Playboy became one of them.
Playboy enters the NFT market
Playboy has partnered with NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway as it looks to provide a platform that supports artists and other creatives. The media company announced this on Twitter yesterday, adding that it is exciting to enter the NFT space.According to the tweet, Playboy stated that "We're excited to announce a new partnership with @niftygateway, the premiere platform for NFT art. Our entry into NFT art builds on Playboy's long history of providing a platform for artists and creative self-expression."
Playboy revealed that it would collaborate with artist Slimesunday to feature a collection of new original works that use incredible imagery and inspiration from our archive. The media company said it has more in store for its followers, including curated NFT art collections from its nearly 70-year archive of art and photography.
"We are thrilled by all of the innovation and access the blockchain can bring, and a big piece of our work will be supporting artists as a collector and via upcoming grants. We're here to learn, support the community and innovate together," Playboy added.
Playboy is an American men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine. It is currently one of the oldest and most popular media companies in the world.
More companies enter the NFT space
An increasing number of companies have entered the NFT space or shown the desire to do so in recent months. Last month, DC Comics revealed that it is considering entering the NFT space and digitalizing its existing action figures. It also intends to create other art specifically for NFT purposes.
