In a recent song video titled One Right Now, Austin Richard Post, better known by his stage name Post Malone, bought a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs built atop the Ethereum network.

As seen in the music video of 'One Right Now,' Post Malone bought a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT through MoonPay, a fintech startup focused on providing cryptocurrency payments infrastructure. Post Malone made the song in collaboration with Abel Tesfaye, also known as, The Weeknd.The rapper, singer, and songwriter is shown in the song buying the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT from Moonpay, which was recently valued at $3.4 Billion in First VC Funding. The video was released on Monday and has already crossed 5 million views on YouTube. Post Malone bought the BAYC NFT NFT #961, value at 75 ETH ($320,000).
Furthermore, Post Malone bought another Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT in a TikTok video from MoonPay. BAYC NFT #9039 was bought for 85 ETH ($362,000) in a TikTok video which has more than 90,000 views.
Post Malone paid to promote MoonPay
However, according to the transaction details, the wallet that now owns the 2 BAYC NFTs was previously sent 175 ETH from MoonPay, which the owner immediately spent to buy the NFTs. However, after buying the NFTs, the owner (Malone) was left with around 15 ETH (nearly $64,000).Apparently, the rapper had made some kind of a promotional deal with MoonPay and, as a result, was paid to promote the wallet. Malone also holds Chromie Squiggles by Snowfro was the first project on Art Blocks, worth around 6 ETH ($23,797) and many other NFTs.

The other artist in the 'One Right Now' music video, The Weeknd, had sold his own NFT via a NIFTY gateway in early 2021. The singer has also joined Tom Brady's NFT place, Autograph, as a member of the Board of Directors.Celebrities like Katy Perry, DJ Paul Oakenfold, Mila Kunis, and many others have shown interest in the NFT industry.
