QI Vesting contract on Superfluid has been exploited
QiDAO stated on Twitter on Tuesday that there was an exploit on the Superfluid Vesting Contract but assured that users' funds were safe and no QiDAO funds were affected. Later, Superfluid also confirmed the vulnerability and said they are investigating the situation and will keep us updated. For now, it looks like the stolen funds belonged to some of the project's early backers and also included Team Vested tokens.While no user funds were affected by the attack, cryptoanalysis group SlowMist tweeted a detailed report on the funds that the hackers behind the attack captured. According to their investigation, the hacker had exchanged most of the stolen tokens and has a balance of 11,016.60 MATIC, 507,930.87 MOCA, 2,707.91 ETH, and 43,910.39 DAI. They estimate that the hackers managed to steal about $13 million worth of cryptocurrencies.

The attackers began dumping stolen QiDAO on Quickswap DEX, which severely impacted the price of the governance token. The token, called QI, is currently down 44%. It seems that investors saw this as an opportunity to buy the token, as the price was $1.23 before the exploit and hit a low of $0.16, while it is now $0.57. It seems like the price recovered because the hackers exploited the vulnerability in Superfluid, and QiDAO itself was not exploited.QiDAO had temporarily paused its bridge after the exploit and hoped to resolve the issue soon. A large part of the community is currently waiting for a detailed report from Superfluid or QiDAO about the situation and see who is affected and how protocols can prevent exploits like this in the future.
