We have allocated a portion of capital we can afford to lose because the risks are certainly high. However, those risks are also paired with incredible potential growth - we're talking 5, 10 & 20Xs.
Given our expectations for the second quarter of 2021, here are some of the projects we are eyeing investments in, projects that have not even gone live yet.
Our Target Holding Period: 1-6 weeks.

The Bluechips
Some of the assets that are already trading on public markets (some of which we own as long-term investments) will be considered Bluechips in this particular space. Let's go through the list:
- SOL: This is an obvious one as it is the backbone of this ecosystem and the native asset of the chain.
- SRM: Most of the trading/swapping being done on the Solana ecosystem today, is being conducted on Serum and given that it's been around the longest with a functional product it will be considered a bluechip.
- RAY: This is Solana's Uniswap (or PancakeSwap if you consider Binance Chain). It is an automated market maker (AMM) protocol that also has a very well developed UX/UI. If Solana entered into its own SZN, then RAY should at least be valued as much as CAKE; which would put it up at ~$90.
- OXY: Oxygen's wallet right now, though functional, is limited. If it is able to become an integral part of the Solana DeFi trading experience, OXY has a chance at being considered a bluechip.
Upcoming Project Watchlist
These are the projects we are currently eyeing allocations in, upon release. Very little details have been shared, even when it comes to supply schedules. Therefore putting price targets pre-release will be impossible. We're planning on entering the pre-sales or buying the listings in cases where we don't get into pre-sales.
Note: Projects not live yet.
- Solstarter (SOS): This is a fundraising platform where any Solana-based project can come in and raise funds by selling tokens in pre-sales. If we are to set an initial target market cap for this project it would be a mere $50M (equivalent to BSC's Wault Finance). Our investment in SOS is not one where we expect to make a great return, it simply is a doorway to future pre-sales in which we can make those returns.
- Solrise Finance (probably will be called RISE): This is a platform where anyone can create a fund in which others can invest. This is actually an important type of project in the world of DeFi overall - Enzyme Finance (rebranded from Melonport) actually have been working on this space for multiple years but they're based on Ethereum. This is a Solana equivalent for the most part. While this is still on the Solana testnet, more than 2,000 unique fund managers registered and over 3,000 funds were created which tells us it will likely have traction upon launch.
- Synthetify (SNY): This is the Synthetix equivalent on Solana. With high throughput, scalability, speed and cheap fees there certainly is a narrative for trading derivatives on Solana. The project is still being tested and the token remains unreleased.
- Star Atlas (ATLAS & POLIS): Blockchain-based video game based on space exploration that also includes NFTs. In reality, this is a proof-of-concept for Solana as a fast/scalable blockchain that showcases its capabilities. There will be two currencies related to the project: ATLAS (in-game currency) & POLIS (governance token). Both of these will be released through what they are calling GAOs (Galactic Asset Offering). This one in particular will hold more risk than other assets in our eyes and hence our allocation to it will be smaller. Also, we are not interested in holding this long term at all - just in it for the hype.
- Mango Markets (token unconfirmed): Mango Markets is a margin trading platform that already is fully functional. As far as we know, there have been no announcements about an upcoming token launch but we certainly are going to participate should that happen.
Tools (Wallets, Trackers, Explorers)
As this is a new blockchain, a different set of tools will be required to navigate the space. For example, on Ethereum-based DeFi most users utilise MetaMask (a browser-based wallet). As this doesn't work on Solana, different wallets will be used.
1 . Wallets
- Sollet: This is the first-issued wallet for Solana, for which a web browser extension was recently released. To be very honest, the user experience is horrendous. This is not what we'll be using ourselves but we're covering them all anyway.
- Solong: Web-browser extension. A step up from Sollet but still has some lag. This is the wallet we have tested.
- Phantom Wallet: Still unreleased to the public. Phantom Wallet is what we are aiming to use for this Solana endeavour as it presents the best UI/UX.
2 . Blockchain Exploration
On Ethereum we all use EtherScan.io for track transactions and ensure finality. Here are the options available for Solana:
- Solana Explorer: The first and main blockchain explorer for Solana.
- Solana Beach: Blockchain explorer with an easy to use and navigate UI.
3 . Position Tracker
There is one particular front-end platform where one could see all the transactions their own address has performed. Farmers will be able to view their yields, investors can view their spot positions and have a one-stop shop to analyse their performance. That platform is Step Finance.
Note: BEWARE OF SCAMS. We have linked the official website (to the best of our knowledge) of each of those projects - they are hyperlinked to the platform names in the report above. Beware of scammy website impersonating these projects for fake pre-sales.
