Senator to present crypto law suggesting Mexico adopt Bitcoin as legal tender
Indira Kempis, a senator representing Nuevo León state, has become yet another official in Mexico to urge the country to follow El Salvador's path on Bitcoin (BTC) adoption, amidst the latter reporting a good impact of its adoption decision.

Kempis, who visited El Salvador a few weeks ago, believes that Bitcoin should be made legal tender in Mexico since it has the potential to expand global financial inclusivity.During an interview with El Salvador In English, the senator said that she plans to present the law in the Mexican Congress this year.
Kempis emphasized that she has a strong background when it comes to Bitcoin by saying:
"I have a community of entrepreneurs, technologists, and friends who are very knowledgeable and have told me for a long time, 'you have to be, and you have to be part of this world.' Now that I am participating in politics, I seek to promote it."Kempis added that Blockchain technology enables us to build an alternative "so that millions of people can be included in the financial system."
She went on to explain that Bitcoin adoption is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for governments all over the world to tackle problems such as inequalities and financial inclusion.

Notably, as the world entered 2022, El Salvador's president Nayib Bukele predicted that two more countries would adopt Bitcoin as their legal tender this year, without mentioning any name.Crypto adoption is gaining momentum in Mexico, with the country's billionaire businessman and founder of Grupo Salinas, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, suggesting the public buy BTC.
