Snowcrash partners with Sony Music Group and Universal Music Group for launching a promising platform
The project focused on the Solana Blockchain, Snowcrash, has revealed that it is launching a platform in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment (SME) and Universal Music Group (UMG).

Snowcrash, which will be competing with the other Solana-based NFT marketplaces like Solsea and Solanart, announces that the upcoming platform will have Bob Dylan and Miles Davis and emerging artist Varvara (who reimagines the legendary paintings of John James Audubon) NFT drops later this year.According to Dennis Kooker, Sony's president of international digital business, the company strives to work with Snowcrash to create "a range of opportunities for our recording artists with a focus on delivering accessible, user-friendly experiences for both creators and fans."
Universal Music's EVP of Digital Strategy, Michael Nash, agreed with Kooker that Snowcrash would give artists new options. He added:
"A critical part of UMG's strategy in this space is to develop artist-focused, premium campaigns and fan-oriented collectibles with world-class partners, which will enable our artists and labels to advance their cultural influence at the forefront of innovation."The addition of Sony and Universal to Snowcrash is just the latest example of significant brands embracing Web3. Warner Music Group also recently announced a partnership with Splinterlands, a blockchain gaming business, citing a desire to get its artists involved in play-to-earn gaming.
Lack of Solana NFTs
Despite Solana offering several benefits to NFT creators like low transaction fees, scalability, liquidity, interoperability, and high speed, it seems that the digital asset market still has to recognize its potential.The biggest NFT marketplace OpenSea, which saw around $8.5 billion in sales in 2022, currently only offers NFTs and collections that are minted on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains. However, it has hinted in the past that it will soon add Solana NFTs.
