Strike confirms integration with Shopify: Set to allow Bitcoin payments
Strike, a well-known payments platform which is based on the Lightning Network, has confirmed its integration with a Canadian multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Shopify. As per the official press release released, merchants from all around the world will be able to use Bitcoin to make payments.

Jack Mallers, the founder and CEO of Strike, said in a statement that the integration with Shopify aims to provide a “cheaper and faster way to accept U.S. dollars using Bitcoin technology.” He further added:“The Lightning Network is a global payments network that lowers costs, enhances speed, drives innovation, improves financial inclusion, and brings the power of choice to consumers and merchants.”The integration with Strike will allow Shopify business owners to cut costs and release or receive payments globally. Furthermore, this new feature will allow businesses to get hold of untapped markets and diversify their payment facilities. It was also revealed in the press release that users will also be able to “generate savings through low-cost payment processing.”
Expansion underway

Recently, the payments firm completed expansion in Argentina, but it didn’t allow users to buy, sell, or trade Bitcoin on the app itself. “The Strike integration offers an alternative experience to traditional card networks by leveraging the underlying technology of the Bitcoin Lightning Network to allow for instant, global, cash-final payments while also eliminating legacy processing fees like interchange.”It is also important to note that the integration of Shopify with the Bitcoin payment provider is a part of a large-scale expansion.
