SynFutures raises $14 million in its latest funding round
Decentralised derivatives exchange SynFutures announced earlier today that it had raised $14 million from an oversubscribed round of financing. The DEX would use the funds to expand its platform and make it easier for people to access cryptocurrency futures.The $14 million Series A funding round was led by Polychain Capital LLC and included other investors such as Pantera Capital, Framework, Bybit, CMS, Kronos, Wintermute, and IOSG Ventures.
Rachel Lin, founder and CEO of SynFutures, said, “We believe SynFutures will ultimately democratize the futures market by empowering users to trade anything at any time.” The trading platform allows people to add arbitrary trading pairs with any maturity date. The traders can also list their own futures contracts with ease. SynFutures allows traders to trade a wide range of assets, including cryptocurrencies, gold and equities.
The decentralised exchange would be giving access to a small set of initial users soon. It intends to open up its platform to its users by next month. SynFutures said it is working on some new products, such as the hash rate futures. It would be the world’s first fully decentralised hash rate derivative that permits traders to hedge or speculate on Bitcoin’s mining difficulty.
