Tether publishes its latest accounting review
Tether Holdings Limited has published a transparency report detailing its reserves as of June 30. The independent account report published earlier today claims that Tether's tokens are fully backed by its reserve.Tether's latest Consolidated Reserves Report or CRR was reviewed by Moore Cayman, an accounting network based in the Cayman Islands. According to the accounting firm, Tether has met its reserve obligations for the period that ended on June 30, 2021.
Per the report, the company's consolidated total assets were roughly $62,773,190,075 for the reporting period. Furthermore, Tether’s consolidated total liabilities were $62,628,932,116, with the USDT stablecoin accounting for $62,610,829,196 of it.
The accounting firm said, "In our opinion, the CRR as prepared by the management of Tether Holdings Limited group as of June 30, 2021, at 11:59 PM UTC, is presented in accordance with the criteria set out therein and is, in all material respects, fairly stated."
Tether adds $21 billion to its total assets
The latest report indicates that Tether has $21 billion to its total assets in the second quarter of the year. Tether's consolidated assets were worth roughly $41,017,565,708 as of April 29, 2021. According to June's report, 85% of Tether's (USDT's) reserves are held in the "Cash & Cash Equivalents & Other Short-Term Deposits & Commercial Paper." Corporate bonds, funds & precious metals accounted for 8%, secured loans (4%) and other investments like digital tokens (3%.)The cash and cash equivalents accounted for $53.3 billion of Tether's total assets. This category includes $30.8 billion in commercial paper and certificates of deposit, 15.2 billion in Treasury bills, another $6.2 billion in cash and bank deposits and $1 billion in reverse repo notes.
