Having already hinted at a possible airdrop, Ukraine's official Twitter account now confirms an airdrop for people who donated with cryptocurrencies to its official crypto addresses.

Last week, the Twitter account directly called for cryptocurrency donations amid the ongoing invasion by Russian forces. This led to a massive wave of support from the crypto community, as more than $30 million in crypto donations came in through the shared wallet addresses. Most of the donations were in Bitcoin or Ethereum, but later Polkadot creator Gavin Wood posted a tweet in response to Ukraine's tweet asking if the account could share a DOT address to donate $5 million.This prompted Ukraine's official Twitter account to post an update to its crypto campaign on Tuesday with a link to a Polkadot address while hinting at a possible airdrop. Today, it looks like the airdrop has been confirmed, as the account shared that a snapshot will be taken tomorrow, March 3, at 6 p.m. Kyiv time. It is unclear how someone knows that they will receive the airdrop and whether the airdrop is a token or an NFT.
Someone had donated a CryptoPunk
While most people had opted for a cryptocurrency donation, some donors chose a more creative approach to support the country. One user had donated CryptoPunk #5364 to the Ukrainian Ethereum wallet on Tuesday. The CryptoPunk has an estimated value of $233,000. It was not the only CryptoPunk the donor had, as he had collected several other punks according to its wallet address.There was also an update on what the donated funds were used for. Coindesk reported that Michael Chobanian, a Ukrainian crypto wallet founder who helps the Ministry of Digital Transformation manage the donations, said that at least $14 million of the donated cryptocurrency has already been spent on military hardware and supplies to civilians, including food and gas.
