Uniswap hires former NYSE president
Per a recent tweet shared by the exchange, Cunningham's expertise in TradeFi, translating over to DeFi to further help them evolve their place in Web3, will help the company focus on "building revolutionary technology—through ups and downs."Uniswap reiterated its goal to enable more transparent and fair markets for all its users.
Cunningham started her career as a floor trader at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and worked relentlessly to reach the height of becoming the first female president at NYSE. She was also featured on the BBC's 100 Women list, and was elected to the NYSE board of directors in December 2021.
According to the announcement, Cunningham joined the company because she believes in the potential of a decentralized exchange and Uniswap Lab's commitment to fairer and transparent markets.
The first female president of the NYSE expressed her excitement on Twitter by stating:
"[I am] excited to bring my years (decades?!) of exchange experience to the Uniswap team to advance their mission of democratizing new markets."
