Bitcoin and Litecoin transactions are now available on WhatsApp, thanks to a special bot created by Zulu Republic. They tweeted that the new Lite.IM bot as an extension to WhatsApp, users will be able to send and receive some cryptocurrencies, including BTC and LTC.
They are also offering users a chance to earn some crypto if they refer a friend to the application. The introduction of cryptocurrency payments to the worlds most popular messenger service will be seen as a key stage in the mainstream adoption journey. With WhatsApp being owned by Facebook, who have been constantly rumoured to be developing their own stablecoin, we may well see future crypto integration within Facebook's network of companies.
