Zuellig Pharma, a Singapore firm, uses blockchain to track Covid-19 vaccinations

A Singaporean healthcare services provider, Zuellig Pharma, has revealed that it is introducing a new management system which is named "eZTracker" which prevents counterfeit or improperly stored vaccines from being circulated.
Zuellig Pharma taps SAP blockchain
As per a report, Zuellig Pharma revealed that they are using the SAP blockchain that enables end-to-end tracking and reporting of multiple business processes and objects. Following the surge in cases wherein counterfeit vaccinations are being injected, the firm will be using the potential of the SAP blockchain to track such cases.Zuellig Pharma said that any government or private institution could identify the authenticity of any Covid-19 vaccine that is distributed or even other pharmaceutical products. The integration of the SAP blockchain allows authorities to improve the supply chain transparency and also verify the authentication via a mobile application.
Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS)
SAP blockchain provides Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) operations and allows clients to develop customized blockchain extensions for their applications, as in the above case, the pharmaceutical operations processed by Zuellig Pharma. As per the eZTracker website, "simply scan the QR code on the packaging to instantly verify if your product comes from an authorized distributor."Daniel Laverick, vice-president and head of digital and data solutions at Zuellig Pharma, commented on the development of the tracker:
"For products registered with eZTracker and depending on the needs of our pharma principals, patients can scan the 2D data matrix on the product packaging to verify key product information like expiry date, temperature, and provenance through its app powered by blockchain."Crypto-related jobs and services have skyrocketed in 2022, and it seems that this is just the start.
