A set of 107 NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection sold for $24.4 million at an online auction by auction house Sotheby's on Thursday,

Two auctions took place at Sotheby's this week, both from Yuga Labs, the creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club, or BAYC, which launched in April. The first collection to be auctioned was a bundle of 101 bored apes together with six serums from the mutant ape collection. The auction was expected to fetch about $18 million but surpassed that figure, reaching $24.4 million.The second auction was a bundle of 101 Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs that sold for $1.8 million. This is interesting because Bored Ape Kennel Club was an NFT collection created as an airdrop for Ape owners and given away for free.
A bundle of nine CryptoPunks sold for $16.9 million at auction in May. And Beeple sold a collage of his works as NFT for $69 million in March. Auction houses are seriously interested in NFTs, and with the upcoming auction at Christie's, it seems the adventures of the bored apes are not over yet.
