You'll need a wallet. If you don't have one yet, check out our tutorial on how to set up a crypto wallet. Once you have your MetaMask wallet, the first step is to select the network for your tokens. Tap on the Ethereum main network text at the top and choose your desired network.Let's use the Ethereum network for this example.
Purchase using credit card, Apple Pay, or bank transfer
To buy with your credit card, Apple Pay, or bank transfer, tap on the 'Buy' button. You'll encounter an introductory message, read it and click 'Get Started'.
Next, select your region. Let's say we're in the United States, specifically Florida. Keep in mind that the available purchasing methods and tokens may vary by region.

Choose your preferred method. We'll select Apple Pay and then tap Continue to add the amount. 
At the top, select the wallet where you want to receive the crypto, and below, choose the token you wish to acquire. If your wallet has no funds, remember that you'll need the network's native token to process transactions.
Since we're using the Ethereum network and lack its native token, we'll purchase ETH. Enter the amount of USD you want to spend and tap 'Get Quotes'. Review the available quotes.
If satisfied, tap on the buy button. You'll then be directed to the payment portal. Once you complete the payment and you're done, you'll receive the tokens once the transaction is executed.
If you don't see the purchase token, manually add it to your wallet by tapping on import tokens, searching for the token, and confirming. Now, you know how to purchase crypto directly within your wallet.
