Neuberger Berman a llocates 5% of commodities fund to BTC
Leading asset management firm Neuberger Berman has revealed that it will invest as much as 5% of its assets in Bitcoin futures and funds. This latest development comes as the firm intends to diversify its holdings.In a SEC filing on Friday, the firm stated that effective immediately, it will allocate as much as 5% of its $164 million Neuberger Berman Commodity Strategy Fund in Bitcoin. The investment firm is seeking exposure to Bitcoin via Bitcoin futures and Canada’s bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETF).
Neuberger Berman didn’t mention Ether
The asset management firm revealed last week that it was seeking to gain exposure to Bitcoin and Ether through futures and ETFs. At the time, the firm said, “Neuberger Berman Commodity Strategy Fund’s (the “Fund”) investment strategy will permit actively managed exposure to cryptocurrency investments and digital assets through (i) cryptocurrency derivatives, such as bitcoin futures and ether futures, and (ii) investments in bitcoin trusts and exchange-traded funds to gain indirect exposure to bitcoin.” Neuberger Berman added that it would invest in Bitcoin and Ether via its subsidiary firm.”However, the firm’s latest SEC filing shows that it is now gaining exposure to Bitcoin. This could imply that it might no longer be interested in gaining exposure to Ether via futures and ETFs, or it will do so in the future.
