VanEck debuts a multi-token crypto-based fund

VanEck, a global investment manager with offices around the world, once again takes a step forward in the crypto industry with its new multi-token crypto-based fund. The firm intends to start 2022 with a bang and it seems that the rejection of the Bitcoin spot ETF in Nov 2021 has made no impact on the plans of expansion of the leading global asset firm.

VanEck supports innovation in Europe

VanEck has been supporting innovation in Europe with its new ETN or Exchange Traded Note that will be provided to European investors. As a result, the crypto-based fund will track the prices of a number of tokens that are widely popular in the crypto space. These tokens include the following:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Polkadot
Solana
TRON
Avalanche, and
Polygon

The new venture of the firm comes at a time when they are already working with the SEC to finally pursue the regulatory authority to approve a Bitcoin spot ETF. Gijs Koning, co-head of VanEck Europe noted that "as the digital assets ecosystem has continued to innovate and grow, we have as well, with a focus on providing professional pricing and indexing via our MV Index Solutions subsidiary, interfacing with global regulators on digital asset ETPs and related topics, publishing high-quality research across a variety of platforms, and building a global product line-up to help investors gain key exposures through transparent, regulated investment structures.”

Addition of Polygon and Avalanche

VanEck had recently added Polygon and Avalanche to its list of ETNs. These ETNs were 100% backed by cryptocurrencies and are fully collateralized. Furthermore, each ETN represents one share of Polygon or Avalanche. VanEck's support of cryptocurrencies has steadily risen since 2017. Koning further added in his statement:

"In early 2017, we determined that digital assets could provide a store of value alternative to currencies and gold, as well as a host of technology solutions that could bring down costs in the payments and investing industries."
